Radio Gimara

Gimara is a scientific-artist based in the UK. She has worked as an academic scientist across a number of different fields from researching trees in the Australian 'outback'' to skull abnormalities in London (Kings College London with funding from the Wellcome Trust).

Her specialist photographic skills for scientific imaging include:
*Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM),
* Biological Transmission Electron Microscopy (BTEM)
*Confocal/Optical Microscopy.

In addition, Gimara has worked in radio and as an art teacher. She wrote, presented and hosted a scientific radio programme, the Curiosity Show for over two years. She is currently taking a well earn hiatus from radio. Gimara teaches 'Drawing and Painting Techniques' as part of the Derbyshire County Council Adult Community Education programme.

Gimara was mentored in fine art by 'Stan' Peter Stayner (a graduate from the Royal College of Art UK and international author).
